Public Guiding

While moored in Stanley Harbour, the Hong Kong Maritime Museum coordinated public visits to the ship. Port Watch was on duty and thus took on the role of public guides.

Poh Huat and I were roped in as well as the numbers of visitors increased. We told them stories about the history, materials, rig and equipment, methods, anecdotes about a sailor’s life and took them on a tour through the Bow, Gun Deck and Sun Deck.

Many of the visitors were from Stanley itself but some were from as far away as Götheberg!
